How does the current calculation work?

Hello,

Does anybody have any idea how to calculate the exact current consumption for individual modules?

Let’s assume some things :-
Constant current driver IC is set at 10 mA for each colour. So 30 mA per LED

For 16 x 32 module of 1/4 scan 128 LED are lit.

So when displaying full white colour the current should come out to 128 * 30 mA that is around 3.8 A.

But when I am actually measuring the consumption with a meter it is only showing 1.1 A. So it is a bit confusing for me.

the difference between theory and practice, is that in theory they’re the same, but in practice, they’re not?
Honestly, I don’t know, but at the end of the day, what your multimeter says, is what goes (although there are also options that affect display speed and in turn indirectly affect brightness and current use, so you might want to play with those too)
