Been using the project with a single chain using a Raspberry Pi Zero WH and the Adafruit bonnet.
I’m wondering what hardware I would need to transition to a multiple chain setup. I already have the second matrix.

Will either the Passive 3 or Active 3 boards fix this? Or do I need to upgrade my Pi?
The rpi0 doesn’t work well with panels as it’s underpowered, but I’m sure it can do a few panels.
You can chain panels (panel #2 connected to panel #1) with any rPi. As you add panels and pixels, the refresh rate goes down, and it looks worse.
You fix this by doing parallel chain, but honestly you don’t need parallel chains for just 2 panels.
Once you exceed let’s say 10k pixels on a chain, you may want to consider parallel chains.
Get the active-3 board from electrodragon, and while it will work in an rPi0, it will likely not work well.
a Pi3 would do fine, and so would a Pi4 (actually if you have a Pi2, that might probably still be enough, but I wouldn’t buy anything less than a Pi3 today)
