Hey there! Im seeing some really bad ghosting on my 32x32 panel. I have a rpi 4 powering it with individual wires, no hat or bonnet.
I’ve played with the various customization options to help with ghosting and i only see very small improvements.
Did i get a bad board? This one is pretty old.. maybe 8 years? Would a hat or bonnet help with ghosting? I’ll try anything!
This could be the problem. Panels use high-frequency signals, which are very sensitive to the quality of the connections. I think it’s very difficult to achieve a high-quality picture with individual dupont wires.
Besides above, you have very little chance of getting any help because you haven’t provided any information about the problem. Nether about the matrix parameters (scan, chip types), nor any information about the connections (pin numbers, diagram, connection photos).
Also, show the code you use to test the panel.
for starters, make sure you have a correctly connected common ground on all required pins, and otherwise yes, with a 3 output active board for less than $10 shipped from electrodragon, or slightly more from adafruit, wiring your own isn’t exactly worth the trouble
Thanks for the info! I ordered a bonnet and will follow up here after it gets installed
